Ingredients
- Salanganes’ nest (1piece or 2 pieces, it depends)
- Sugar lumps (the amount of sugar lumps is dependent on the amount of salanganes’ nest: 3 teaspoons of sugar lumps are required for every 5g of prepared salanganes’ nest)
- Drinking water
- A ceramic bowl or pot suitable for steaming
- A Steam cooker
Recipe
- Make sure the nests are clean before you start cooking (as per instruction for cooking preparation)
- Put the cleansed salanganes’ nest into the ceramic bowl (pot). Fill water up the bowl (pot).
- Put the bowl (pot) into the steam cooker, then pour water inside about ¼ level of the bowl.
- Heat the steam cooker until water boiling, then change to low heat, steam about 20 min (it depends on various types of nests)
- When salanganes’ nest is relatively soft, turn the cooker off, then put sugar lumps into the dish. Many people add some slices of ginger or gensing so that the dish becoming more superb.
